Welcome to the Lucid NI speed test. You may use this utility to determine your current internet connection speed.
Please note that the test is only accurate for those who have their internet connection in the UK. Please allow 2 to 3 minutes for the test to complete. In reality, users may find that the test only lasts around 30 seconds - this is usual. Results are logged for statistical purposes and are an indication of your connection speed only.
To run this test effectively ensure that no other programs on your machine (or if on a network - no other computers) will be accessing the Internet during the test.

NTL / Virgin Media users will suffer inconsistent and/or poor speed results. This is due to network upgrades. I am on a Virgin media line and can complain about pitiful speeds. I've looked into it and any Northern Ireland users can expect to wait until AT LEAST June until the problem is resolved. This may also be an issue for all NTL/Virgin Media users within the UK.
